2005 911 Brake Pedal Question

Hi all. I'm new to the forum. I recently sold my Nissan 350Z and am looking to get back into 911 ownership. I have owned two previous Porsches, a 928S4 and a 1987 Carrera.

I like the fresh look of the latest 911 body style a lot, so I'm looking for a 2005 911 Coupe. I was at the Miami Intl. Auto Show today in Miami Beach, and I sat in a brand new Carrera to check how I fit into the car, for I believe it would be the same thing as the 2005. (although the car I sat in was a convertible, and I want a coupe). Anyway, here's my problem.

The seat was marginally back far enough at its rearward limit, which was borderline tolerable, but I'm used to it, for this is what I usually have to deal with because I'm 6' 2". This does allow me to drive with my knees if I'm eating a Big Mac. :-)
But there was something wierd going on with the pedals down there. I don't know if my feet are too big or what, but whenI lifted myfoot off the accelerator and go to move it to the left in order to push the brake,my foot hits the SIDE of the brake pedal.I actually have to bend my leg a little and raise it in orderto lift my foot high enough to clear the side of the brake pedal. Only thencan Iput my foot over the pedal and depress it. It's not a seamless lateral movement from accelerator to brake. I verified with the Porsche representative that those pedals are not adjustable. I don't think I can live with that. For that kind of money, that car better not have annoyances such as this. I can just visualize plowing intothe back of a car because I couldn't get my foot on the brake pedal in time.I haven't been able to find any commentary on the Internet about this. This is horrible, and hugely disappointing.I found a 2005 that I'm going to look at early in the week, but if the brake pedal is the sameas in the 2007 Cabrio,I'm sadly out of the 911 market. Maybe an Audi S5 instead?Wow!Does anyone have any thoughts or experience with this? Thanks.Roger
