Hi -On regular occasions when I turn theignition off and take the key out the ignition lights stay on. These lights generally go out after half an hour or so but the battery light remains on and drains the battery quickley. Some times when I turn off and take the key out eveything is fine and lock the car, after a couplehours the alarm goes off and all the ignition lights are on.

I have had a new alarm system and a new alternator fitted but the problem still remains - Can anybody please help.

I would start by replacing the ignition switch, they tend to cause wierd issues like that.

I just replaced one this week, where when you removed the key, it said it was still in the ignition.

When you say the ignition switch is this the same as an ignition barrell. Also I should have mentioned that the fault happens more often in wet conditions or when the car is washed. I have checked the car for interior leaks and can not find any.

Do you still think it is ignition switch/barrell?

I have replaced the ignition switch and the poblem still occurs. I am now convinced it is to do with water getting in the engine compartment (which it is supposed to do) and upsettingsome worn out wiring,but I can't find theproblem area.

Has anybody please got any ideas to which electrical connection it could be.
