997 S break in rules

What's the real story with breaking in the 997 S?
These modern, high performance engines are built so well nowadays, the tolerances they have in them were unheard of just a few years back so do I really have to stick to that excruciating 4000 rpm limit for a full 1000 miles?
Will appreciate the input of people with more Porsche experience then mine.

RE: 997 S break in rules

Is that what's called for in the owner's manual? If so, I'd take it seriously.
