Alignment specs on 996
 

I tried a search to no avail. I pm'd Doc just in case. I replaced the OEM rear 17's with some new rubber and am looking to purchase some 19's for my 00 996.
does anyone here have the OEM alignment specs and the recommended "adjusted" specs for the rear wheels, in particular.

Reason being, I have a very good tire shop locally that will do my mounting /balancing/ alignment and I mentioned the "adjusted" specs. They prefer Factory settings , for CYA purposes but would be willing to adjust if I brought them something on paper, so the tech can follow them as opposed to just being told to do so.

any advice would by appreciated.

I can't remember what the specs are, but any alignment shop's machine will have the proper specs in their alignment computer, no need to give the tech something he already has. I can pull the manuals and look them up if you need them, but it is unnecessary imho. For a street only car, I would probably stick with as close to the factory specs as possible, you can take some of the toe out to save on tires, but I wouldn't do anything drastic.

When I first got my '04 Carrera it had a lot of rear toe out and it went through the inside trea of both tires in about 5,000 miles(one Saturday I did the usual weekly walkaround inspection in my driveway and found one rear tire had worn nearly to the steel belt on the inside edge of one of them, but had plenty of tread (looked nearly new) on the outside edge).
I took it too a Ford dealerhsip (I would not recommend just any Ford dealership, but my son is service manager at the one nearest me, and they have the equipment and technicians certified to work on the Ford GT there). They looked up the specs on their computer and then aligned front and back to exactly in the middle of the factory range. Two points about this.The subsequent set of tires went 16,000 miles before I replaced them -- and they were stilll legal, but . .
But the feel of the handling changed after that alignment, and for a while I was pretty upset that the car did not feel as precisely dialed in as it had when I bought it, but I got over that, mostly, I guess, because I grew used to the landling with the new alignment.
