Any tips for buiyng a 2003/2004 911 Turbo?

I am looking into purchasing a 2003 or 2004 911 turbo to replace my 1998 Corvette Convertible. Although it is still a toss up between the 911 turbo and a new Z06 Vette, I am seriously leaning towards the Porsche. I'd appreciate any advice about things to look out for when purchasing the 911 turbo....particulalry things I can look for myself as I will likely purchase this via an E-bay dealer or some other out of town seller. Has anyone had experience with non-Porsche extended warranties? I'd hate to buy the car and have something like a turbo failure! What is the engine life span on these cars when well kept? Thanks!

I didn't buy a turbo but a 2004 C4S(11K miles only)from this dealer in Hollywood, Ca. They are great and the prices are really competitive. Their cars all have very low miles and are top notch. Check out their web page as it changes daily. They turn over cars really fast. Good luck. My buddy has a 2001 Turbo and loves it! He actually just changed out his Turbo's for the K24 and good grief it's fast with all of his other MODS. Im also looking to extend my warrante when the original one goes out. I know the dealer that I bought the car from has several companies they deal with. Will keep you posted on cost when it gets closer. Good luck
