Cabin Particle Filter Installation for 996

Hi All,

Can anyone tell me how to install the cabin particle filter for my 2002 911, where it is located, tools need to replace? etc.

Hi 2002targa,

It is located in the front trunk compartment to the left of the battery. Removetop plasticpanel and the filter is tucked right underneath the windshield. It’s a big sucker, so you can't miss it. My 1999 911 is a little older than yours, but both are 996, so I'm sure it’s in the same place as mine.

Hope this helps,

Kevin

Thanks, Kevin!

For the 2002model I found youneed an allen wrench remove the passenger sideblack cover (next to the battery cover). You then have to remove this cover (it's one bolt). You will see the pollen filter there under the windshield.

For what Porsche dealers charge to replace pollen filters, I can't believe how easy that was!

It should be a torx bit to remove that cover, unless the bolt has been replaced by someone else. T22 IIRC.
