Clutch replacement
 

hey,
My uncle has a 911, I am unsure of the exact year but I want to say mid to late 80s.
anyways he got this got for really cheap a while back. Maybe 10 years ago, for about 4 grand. He doesn't drive it, it just sits in his garage and has for the last 6 or 7 years.
The problem is the clutch is worn out in it. I believe he bought the clutch kit for it and its just sitting there. He loves this car and is basically afraid of hurting it. I hate to see it sit.
So when I move nearby his house pretty soon I plan on replacing the clutch in it. I wanted to know if there was anything special I needed to know or anything that would differ between it and replacing the clutch on a normal front engined vehicle.
It really sucks that he has this car and basically likes it so much that he doesn't want to damage it, yet this means he doesn't get to drive it!! He drives a freaking 90s Pathfinder, when he owns a 911!!!
so yeah any tips or differences you guys could let me know would be great. If it helps anyone Identify the exact age its kind of a dark blue color, has that big rubber spoiler and the mags are painted the same color as the rest of the car.

Other than having to remove the motor and tranny from the vehicle to do the clutch, it isn't anything major. About a 10hour book time job IIRC. You can do it in 2 hours if you are moving fast.

The motor has to be taken out too?? Why?
