Cold Weather Clunk in Rear??

Due to work in my house and all the contractors junk in my garage, I'm forced to keep my 2007 Targa 4 outdoors for the next few weeks. It was+4F this morning when I went out to start the car. It started right up (and the heated seats worked great)but as I pulled away, I heard and felt a clunk from the rear end. My guess is this has to do with the car being out in the cold overnight?? Driving the car after it's been well warmed up has not produced the noise again. Any other idea's?? Thanks in advance..

had the hand brake set last night? humidity caused it to rust ie clunk was it breaking loose of rotor.

I have an '05 997 cab tiptronic that when the engineis cold I will get a clunk noise from the rear as well. I have noticed that the transmission has shifted from 2nd to 1st. I'm interested to see if this is normal and if related to the original post from Steve above.
