Can't tell much from the video, and no offense but I don't trust anything I see over the internet.

Regardless, the "no internal engine mods" claim tells it all: this car will self-destruct pretty soon. It is possible to get a lot of power out of a stock engine briefly -- Add enough "dry" Nitrous and you can just about double the real, to-the-ground output of any modern engine as long as it has a generous fuel delivery system (and most do for emissions control reason), and, of course, if you don't care about longevity. I still have a piston and a very twisted rod from our '98 Camaro. We got 550 RWHP out of what was a stock 305 HP Camaro, and it lasted a few months, but it blew the rear end, trans, and the engine, in that order and all pretty quickly. Of course, now, $40K later, we get another 300 RWHP from a pretty solid powertrain and reliable 9 second 1/4s, but that's what it takes: Porsche or chevy, both were designed by engineers who gave each about 40% margin, but doubling the HP kills that in a hurry. Only way to do it right is to spend a ton of $$ in either case.

Still, it's fun to watch these mobile grenades before they blow up.

Actually your correct about GM and most of there cars as for how much power the motor can handle. As a manufacture and the OWNER of Cold Fusion Nitrous Systems I know exactly how much HP the 997 engine can handle and you are incorrect about the 40%! There are hundreds upon hundreds of 997's in the country pushing over 700hp on all stock internals. The Germans actually build a very good engine with all of the same type of forged components you purchased for your camaro! As for GM, FORD, Pont, ect yes, you get what you pay for and that is a cheap cast crank and cheap cast rods and pistons!But, a Camaro only cost $35k new and the 997 is 140K so I think your still saving a lot of money hot rodding the Camaro but it does not perform like a 997 and thats that!

This 997 has over 40k in after market parts to run this 9.61!

Oh, no one ever said we didn't break a few parts along the way! It broke the rear axles until we installed chrome moly axles!

As for the video, its genuine! No need to go there. There is another 997 that went 9.79 with about the same MPH on stock internals.
