First "Long" Trip in my Targa 4...

Had to make a 1425 mile round trip this week (From upstate New York to North Carolina)to attend the funeral of a friend who I served within Vietnam. It was my first real chance to see how my Targa 4 performed on the road.. I averaged almost 28 MPG with an average speed of 75 using the numbers on the trip computer. Not too bad.. The roads in Lower New York,New Jersey and Pennsylvania really made for a ruff ride but things improved in West Virginia, Virginia and North Carolina. One thing I realized.. Why do the states that have toll roads also have the roads in the worst condition?? I thought the tolls were for road repairs??? My car now has just shy of 5800 miles on it. No oil burned as of yet.. The long lines of trucks in the left lane made things intersting.. This is where the power of the Porsche really comes into it's own..When my back started to tighten up, I just turned the heated seat on and the pain went away.. Gas prices were about 45-55 cents cheaper than New York.. So.. The car is excellent for long trips as long as the roads are in good shape...

Enjoy the nice weather..

I know what you mean about those crappy toll roads and you can feel every bump in the 911
