GT3 vs GT2

Have my eye on a Black GT2 05 w/ 5400 miles, The car is a freakn rocket, after my test drive I went back to my office and began to do alittle research, and what I find is the GT2 is the faster of the two and as far as handling goes I think the GT2 out performs again. I really want to put an end to my every two or three months trading, so far this year just in the Porsche line 6-07 99 Cab 1-08 C4S two weeks ago 04TT so I want to get the most Porsche and STOP the trading I lose my ass everytime I trade.Any positive or negitives on the GT2 would help me make my dicision.Car info: 05 GT2 5400 miles there asking 158k car is a 9.9 out of 10

I'd compare the Turbo with the GT2 and for about $130K you can buy a new 08 Turbo and it's performance is very close to the GT2. 0-60 in 3.7s vs 3.6. Top speed of 198 vs 204. Since you don't have the German autobahn to test it, not sure you'll have many opportunites to see that top speed anyway.

RE: GT3 vs GT2

CMILAM, thats not a bad idea, there is the new car warranty. The TT is allwheel drive and the GT2 is rearwheel drive. The TT has to be heavier doesn't it? That would mean that the TT should out handle the GT2? This has become an obsesssion more than a practicale move,it seems that everytime I move up it gets better so I was thinking that the GT2 would be the top and I could ,purchase and move on. I get on something and can't let go.I'll go to the dealership drive them back to back and hopefully make a dicission.

I think the telling point is that there is little difference between the Turbo and the GT2 for most mortals to identify the performance difference. So saving the money on the Turbo over the GT2 would be an important factor. If you wanted a Turbothen that is faster than the GT2 you could spend a small part of that differnce with a bit of ECU chipping, exhaust, and intake mods. You would also provide a small insurance to your own mortality by hav ing 4WD to keep you a little safer.
However if you want the "Street Cred and Kudos" then it has to be the GT2 which in 997 guise has lost the "Widow Maker" association I believe.

I think either car will have outstanding performance and will be head turners when your driving down the street. I like the fact that you get the warranty on theTurboand like Big Bob said, you can bolt on some serious add ons, enhancing it's performance even more. Good luck and let us know what you decide.

Thanks very much for being the voice of reason. Now the fun part starts I would like a Black TT, I live a couple hours from Charlotte NC and I'll start there then Atlanta tell I find a Black TT w/ Nav. Thank you again
