I have never driven a 911 before, can someone even begin to tell me what the expierence is like?? I am dying to know..

Go to your local dealer with your driver's lic. and they will let you test drive .

I do not know how the older ones feel to drive. I drove a new 911 in 1965 but don't remember much except in felt more precise than my 3-liter Healey, but had no torque. I expect the early ones, driven today, would perform well but feel like a very old car.

My '04 feels very precise and very linear - perfect reaction to drive inputs. It understeers more than one would think. Cornering limits are high, I suppose -- I have not pushed it hard. The brakes are very good, and again, linear in feel. Most important though, the car "fits" the driver perfectly, outside visibility is wonderful, and all controls are well placed and then didn't even ride in one until the test drive for the car I now own.

And some things never change -- after forty years they still have no torque. or at least not much compared to other options (Corvette) - if you want power, you have to rev the engine, but they are geared low in first so they rev fast in the lower gears, and thus the lack of real low end grunt is never missed.

Mine is the perfect daily driver.

I've driven one and they're exceptionally tight. low to the ground with some juice. Are you looking to get one?

well i'm actually looking to get a 924 or a 944 as a first porsche, but i just wanted to see what your opinions were on the 911. I do infact love it to death..
