IF IT AIN't BROKE DON'T FIX IT?

Just went thorugh the process of fixing a HOT STRAT problem by replacing the
check valve, Fuel accumulator and fuel filter and all is well...but for some
reason I have this itch to go ahead and replace the Oxygen Sensor. Does
it make sense to go ahead and replace. I've purchased the type you splice
into the old single line...can it be swapped with a standard wrench versus
the special socket or is it even worth my time vs the benefits.....ANY ADVICE?

It probably won't hurt anything. From what I have seen on the earlier 911's, the O2 doesn't come into play much. But if you have it, I would just put it on. It just takes a 22mm wrench.

Porsche doc...

OK i replaced today and it actually seems to being running a little rich
now....not quite as snappy off the gas pedal and little fuel smell....
possible? does it take some running to let injectors adjust?

For those to know....it's gotta get hot....the 83 has a
single wire sensor so it doesn't do much till it gets
hot....multiple wire units have the ability
to heat the sensor up immediatley...once operating
temperature is reached with the single wire unit
it seems to kick in communicating
the required mixture. All's better now...
