Intake leak?

Hi all,

I'm new to this forum and to the Porsche world. I must say the car is all I dreamed of and then some. A couple weeks ago I decided to stop by a dealer's just to finally get to know what the dream car felt like driving - and before I knew it it was in my garage.

Anyway, to the point:

The engine is not running rite at moderate revs and moderate pedal. When I put the foot down it is ok. This leads me to believe I'm looking at an intake leak? My question then is where to start looking? Are these engines prone to leaking certain places? And are there any typical ignition problems that I might be looking at?

Best regards,

Carrera2

RE: Intake leak?

Possible intake leak, bad plugs, CO out of adjustment, etc. You can take a can of carb cleaner, while the engine is running, and CAREFULLY squirt it around the intake passages and see if the revs change at all. If they do, then you found your leak. Do it in small squirts.
