Default Interior Light issues for a Porsche Newb

Hopefully this turns out to be simple user error, but I have spent 3 hours trying to figure it out and still no luck. I just bought a 2002 911 Cabriolet and opened the driver's door and found that none of the interior lights came on. I put the key in the ignition and turned it to the start postion, opened the door and voila, the lights came on...shut the door and the lights dimmed out as expected. All the lights (trunk, engine compartment, reading lights, glove boxand door lights) onlywork when the key is turned to the start position.

I first thought this may be related to the "load switch-off" function, but it doesn't seem to be.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Default RE: Interior Light issues for a Porsche Newb

I checked in on another forum and found the answer. It turns out that the car's anti-theft system was not set up and for the interiorlights to work properlythis feature needs to be enabled. Once this was done at the Porsche dealer everything worked fine. Thanks to everyone that looked for an answer.
