Default My first question...

I have a 69 Porsche 911 engine in my car. What I want to know is are the tubes sticking up between the velocity stacks on both weber carbs there for a purpose? Id like to get rid of the big 'can' air cleaner box and put something over them a little dressier. I found a set of 2 - 4 bbl billet air cleaners, similar to those on older ford Cobras and trying to figure how i can mount them. Thanks for any tips or advice. Im not at all familiar with Porsche mechanicals, but work on all my own other cars.
