They go good in the snow, they just don't stop as well :)

If you put snow tires on them they do alright in snow up to about 4-5 inches -- if fact even a standard 2-wheel drive model does pretty good. Yeah, they don't stop as well, or accelerate or corner as well, but then nothing does and you really shouldn't be pushing it in the snow, should you?

Definetly go with a 4S. The Carrera 2 doesn't do well in any snow condition. Too much torque and not enough traction. I agree with Doc and Lee, stopping in the snow is poor with regular tires and ok with snow tires.

If you buy aftermarket wheels and tires and get thinner rims with 205 snow tires in the rear and 195s up front, the two wheel drive will do okay in snow -- not great, but about as good as a front driver. I think Tirerack or tirebarn or some place has a package. You have to work with them to get the thinnest tires possible (I think the Porsche manual/doorsticker lists 225s in the rear and 205s in the front, which seems too wide for me).

Of course, the best solution is just leave it at home. They aren't really good snow cars.
