Nissan GT-R vs Porsche
 

Several magazines are saying that the Porsche reign is over. This is one of many articles (http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do...ticleId=123940)
Anyone seeing this stuff?

Well, this stuff has gone for years: anew model whatever comes out and is better than everything else that is several years old. About six months ago it was the Audi that was so great, etc.It will change in time. Porsche will have a new model, etc.

I like many of the elements of the GT-R but I could never live with the styling: not my type of lines, but it has many fine features. Most important they went with 4 wheel drive, which is something GM has to do with the 'vette soon if it expects to stay competitive in the over 500 HP end of the market.

By the GT-R's looks . . . maybe it looks better in person than in photos.

It's no doubt fast, but it's also very ugly.

You have to wonder what was on Nissan's mind. They could have gone to Pininfarina or some other really good Italian design shop and had a "world class" body designed for, oh, maybe ten million or so . . . the car would have looked great and the cost would have been distributed over many cars, and would haveestblished a great image.

Instead, teh GT-R looks like a car some 8th-grade retad drew in study hall, and most people who buy it will buy it in spite of its styling, not because of it.
