I bought a 2001 996 about 6 months ago and I was wondering if what is happening is normal. When I am cruising at about 70 mph with about 2800 rpm in 6th gear and press on the accelerator, the rpm quickly increases to approx. 3400 then backs off to about 3100 rpm.
