Default OEM Blaupunkt Stereo Removal?

My 1986 911 currently has the OEM Blaplunkt Monteray stereo, however the U button does not work, neither does the the display. I have sourced a replacement stereo unit of the same model.

Does anyone have any tips for removing the head unit? It appears there are 4 small holes at each corner -- which I'm told require a special tool or slightly modified coat hanger as the 'puller device'.

I would gladly accept any tips or advice for this removal procedure.

Thanks

You should be able to get it out with anything that you can stick in the holes, such as a coat hanger. It sometimes takes a little wiggling, but you should be able to reach under the dash and help persuade it from the back side.
