Per-purchase questions 1976 911s targa 2.7L

I'm thinking of buying a 1976 911s 2.7L targa. The body and inside is clean. There is 23,000 original miles on it. I don't know if anything in the engine has been replaced. I will find out more when it gets an inspection. I know this year can be a problem - is it worth my time and money? What should I look for and avoid? I will probably drive this car often, but it will be my alternate Porsche.
