Supercharger VF yes or no???

Hi
Does anybody have any experience with VF supercharger for a 997S?
Are they reliable or...............
I am thinking of buying a used one with factory build in VF Supercharger. I am not familiar with superchargers so hopefully somebody can help.

Thx

The VF kit is an outstanding kit. i have installed many, and we use them on dedicated track cars with no issues. Very solid product.

I had a VF S?C on my '04 BMW M3 and found it to be a very solid and reliable product as dailly driver and on the track. Not sure about Porsche, but I hope this encourages you to consider VF, They also give excellent client service. You'll find you are driving a whole new car! Enjoy, but do follow the break in period guidelines.

i see that the cost is about 10K for my 966. any idea on what the installation will run?
will any other parts need to upgraded to handle all the extra horses?

I don't think I could compare the labor for VFE install for my E46 M3 (about 12 hours) to your 996. However, I found VFE very friendly over the phone and they will probably, and gladly, answer your questions about how many hours labor is involved.

I suspect they will inform you that you don't need any other mods, and this is probably true (as it was for the M3). However, to fully enjoy the performance you will probably be looking at some improved brake pads and your suspension may not offer you smooth stable balancing as it used to. I would highly recommend you check out the increased heat issue as this did become a bit of an issue for my M3 under some hot ambient conditions. Still, you could wait and see how these issues unfold, if at all, for you. You are making a major change in your overall system, and when you make such a change in part of the system, you sometimes find out you start to notice other changes in other parts of the system. VFE is a great product and the company is a good one to deal with before and after the fact.
Enjoy!

Installation is about 17 hours. No need to upgrade other parts for this bolt on kit.
