Upgrading my 996 clutch?

So it has come to my attention that I need a new clutch in my 2000 911 Carerra Cab... rather than replace the clutch with OEM parts, I figured I would upgrade the clutch while I have to pay for the labor right now either way - any suggestions or recommendations?

I am not going to be doing any real HEAVY mods, but intake, exhaust, flywheel, chip and other lil things like that perhaps, so I don't need some crazy stage III clutch or anything im sure but what do you guys think? good idea? bad idea? thanks in advance

I'd put an OEM clutch in it and keep the car stock, spending my money to have all work done really well by an excellent shop. Modifying a car is a slippery slope, and your car is at an age where: it is going to start needed some work just due to age alone, not mileage. Generally satsifaction will come from spending money to keep it in absolutely pristine shape, rather than modifying it. If you really are determined to have a faster car, you'd do better to do a budget cluth on this, sell it, and upgrade to something more recent.

Some cars seem to have been made to be modified and hot rodded ('vettes, for one), but the 911 really isn't one of them. You can modify and make them very fast - it is expensive and comes with quite a price in durability and exveryday use, and that is a shame because they are a very good car as they come from the factory.
