Post What Year is it?

So I'm purchasing a 1980 porsche Sc Cabriolet. Beautiful car, flawless, but I have to wait a month before I can go and pick it up. In my idle time I've decided I will know everything there is to know about this car. Cutting to the chase, in my pursuit of knowledge I came to find out that Porsche didn't even make 911 cabriolets until 1983. I've contacted the seller for the vin number, but I suppose my question is "if porsche didn't get on the "drop top" fad till '83. What year is the car I'm buying?

Hi Tony,

That is a good question. Have you seen pictures of the car? Do you have any that you could post? Either the car is a targa that someone is calling a cab, or maybe the year is incorrect. I'd be a little leary until you get the full details.
