white gauges for my 2001 911 (996)
I wont to replace the standard black gauges in my 911 with new white gauges, but the local Porsche centre want to charge me $2,000 plus fitting.
I have seen on the internet Porsche specialists that offer the gauge faces for about GBP260. Does anybody know how to fit these gauges and how difficult is it? Is there instructions somewhere that I can follow. Also what is the difference between the Aluminum Colour gauges and White gauges? What is the most preferred colour. I have seen what I thought were white gauges on other 911's but a dealer told me they were not white but aluminum. All help would be most appreciated. Shane |

It is a very easy install. You have to remove the cluster, and take apart the gauge cluster, both are very easy and involve about 6 screws total. Remove the old faces, put on the new ones, and you are done. Typically it takes me about 45 minutes to an hour. You can check out NRauto.com for gauges.

Thanks for your assistance, is it also possible to change the gauge needles? Presently the needles ate orange, but they might look a bit strange with white faces.
