I see a vast amount of these cars for sale, 1983 - 1990. They all have around 100,000 miles. Look good cosmetically, etc, etc. And go Vag com 16.8 for around $5,000 - $10,000. But my question is are these cars reliable? are they generally easy to work on if you're an advanced motorcycle mechanic? And are the parts that will break "cheap"?

Also what is your definition of a "reliable car" or "decent"?
