since no one is answering this in the engines forum...

...is itrelatively easy to swap a early 60s 2.0 flat six into an early 60s 912? I don't know much about these cars, besidesadmiring them. It seems like the swap would be fairly easy? I have been restoring musclecars since 1984, so I'm fairly handy around an automobile.
Thanks,
Dean

Sure you can make the swap. You will have to move the motor mounts slightly, but it can be done.

PorscheDoc, thanks for the reply! It looks like a simple swap, but I had to ask anyway.

Your best bet would be to drop in a 914 2.0 motor or a 912E motor if you could find one. The swap to put in a 914 motor is less costly and easier for the most part.

It can be done but existing engine mounts have to be removed and new motor mounts welded in, also holes must be cut in the passenger side engine compartment to properly mount the oil tank necessary for the 911 engine.
