1970 Porsche 914 Price...and cost to fix?

I am looking at buying a 1970 Porsche 914, the asking price is $2500. This is what i know about the car:

This car is pretty much all-original. It has the 1.7 litre that was originally fuel-injected, but has been converted to carb. The motor and tranny were rebuilt by previous owner in 2000 (I think) by a reputable shop. (Owner has all the receipts for the work done on the car.) The windshield is toast- it needs a replacement. It will not pass inspection with the windshield the way it is currently. The clutch is fine, with no indication of wear. It is time for the valves to be adjusted (was told it will cost around $35 at a local VW Bug shop) The dash cover needs replacing to look nicer, but it is fine the way it is as a daily driver. Needs fuel lines replaced. Most likely will want to install a shift gate with a reverse-lockout because of the strange shift-linkage DBScar-DI Diagnostic Connector.

Can someone please let me know what these fixes would cost me, and if this car is worth the price? Is there anything else i should know about these cars? I know they are made by Volkswagen and Porsche, but that doesn't really bother me. I am not sure what in particular to look for when i go to look at the car again. How reliable are these cars? What kind of gas mileage can i expect? Any help would be appreciated.
