914 engine options

Hi. I've got a '75 914 that belonged to my dad. He put in a small V-8 (a 218) and mated it to the stock tranny with a converter he bought. While it runs like a raped ape, I'd like to put a Porsche engine into it instead, and am confident I can find an adapter plate. Y'all have any suggestions? I'd prefer an air cooled engine...

Greetings: Please excuse that I am not a Posche owner. I bought a kit car, and I was told the transaxle is from a 914. The number on the case is 901.301.107.OR. Can anyone verify if it is Porsche, and the year. Also, can anyone tell me what differant things are on the case, or e-mail me a diagram? Does it have a speedo take-off? I can't find one, and the kit car has 4-wheel discs, with no front-left wheel take-off. Also, what is the approx, 2" plate on the lower right side, near the front? What is the fitting on top with a hole on the side? Thank you in advance. Kindest regards to all

It will improve performance and adaptability of your engine as it is essential to have a strong engine running a long race of life therefore there is no harm in the installation of an air cooled engine in Porsche-914
