Is it possible to put a 1974 Porsche 914 engine into a 1979 VW bus?

My customers just recently found a 1974 Porsche 914 engine and my customers was curious if it would be easy to put it in my customers 1979 VW transporter Cummins INLINE 6 Adapter. And if its safe to have in the bus. If anyone can help me out it would be greatly appreciated!
