1988 924s starting problem - Help!

Hey guys, My porsche has a problem starting up - (has the 944 engine - which you already know) - I will crank it over, and it will crank, and about 5-10 secs (sometimes longer) it will click and the car will start right up. I have changed the plug/wires/rotor and cap and it still has the same problem. I need some help! what are some things I could check and/or change out? Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks.

What do you mean it will click? Typically the 944's will take 5 seconds of cranking before it will fire off. If you really want to go after it, replace your fuel pressure regulator and damper as well, but that may not be it either. Also replace your fuel check valve at the pump, it may not be holding pressure and leaking back out of the rail. This is a problem that you can track for months, throw a ton of parts at it, and it will still be there.
