924S to 944 body panel conversion

http://www.gt-racing.com

They have them ('glass body panels) here on this website. Click on catalogue, then 944/924 parts.

I was wondering if anyone had something similar done, or knows a place where something like this can be forund cheaper? Is it worth it?

I am considering on getting a kit which makes the rather stright body lines on my 924 into a 944 or better. I have a 944 back glass/spoiler in a parts car already.

Why not just pick up 944 fenders, bumper cover, etc and do that? You can usually pick those up pretty cheap on ebay and from guys parting cars.

I agree with PorscheDoc, at least you would then have original Porsche body panels, which would most probably fit better!

The only problem with this is....how would you flare out the rear arches? I think it would be better/easier/cost effective if you just sold the 924 and bought a 944 off eBay! (They can go for some crazy prices!!!)

RE: 924S to 944 body panel conversion

I used to have a 1986 944 turbo that got wrecked and when I first bought my 924S I wanted to turn it into a 944 and looked for panels, body kits, and the like. After a while though I grew to really appreciate my car for what it is and have since devoted my time to keeping it maintained and looking as new as possible. I am glad I did as I get more compliments on it then I did with my 944. (Just my humble opinion)

Well, I put the old Porsche in the gaurdrail last weekend... The drivers side is boogered a little. Only surface damage. F*in deer.

I think I shall look at a 944... My 924 is a POS mofo inside and out now. All it does is run great.

Those panels look like fun though :)
