Hey all, I have an 87 924S. Starts fine but then the idle dips and acts like it's struggling to stay alive, then dies. If I keep my foot on the gas it does fine, once I get a chance to drive for awhile and I come to a stop the car won't always die, but the loping idle still goes on. Being that it could be any number of things does anyone have a good guess as to where to start? Thanks.

 

First i would start by checking for vacuum leaks. If the system tests good, then i would see if the ICV is functioning. You should be able to hear it clicking if you put a stethoscope on it.

 

I am late in posting this but it was indeed a vacuum leak. A $9 S shaped line. Thank you Porsche Doc.
