Porsche 924
 

My 1979 924 with 88 K miles started bogging down really bad at full throttle going up the mountains west of Denver, when I gave it 1/2 gas it would keep going but just barey. By the time I got to Grand Junction it would barely run. After leaving it sit for 30 minutes it would get up to 3 1/3 grand, drove it a few days later to a shop but by the time I got there it was running normal.Cant fix it if it aint broke the mech said. On the way back home it drove fine all the way to the high mountains where it lost power again climbing the tall mountains but this time I shut off the ign. switch and coasted down the mountains and it ran fine till I started another climb. Got it home this way but on the flat land it lacked some power but could still do about 65 top speed ,maybe 7 - 8 grand only. Next time I drove it it was normal till today. Now it started doing the same thing again but this time on the flat land 4 months later.If I shut off the ign and coast for 1/2 mile and than turned on engine again i had some power to go at least 50 mph for a mile or so befoe I lost power again. Now after getting home it won't even pull it self. Anyone have any ideas whats wrong ?-- maybe electronic ign. or fuel injection. replaced the fuel filter. Help !

Put on a fuel pressure gadge and I have normal system pressure of 72 LBS but the control pressure is also 72 LBS which should not be over 57 so I think the problem is in the fuel distributer ????? Anyone had these readings before ? Help !

could be a malfunction with the pump i had a similar prob with my 78 924 the contacts become corroded along with the wires clean contacts and check wiring that may fix your issue

Can't be the pump as I have normal system fuel pressure readings of 72 LBS, in the past my control pressure reading would be 57 LBS but now they are also 72 LBS. Still suspect the fuel distributar but hate to spend that much money on new one of its not faulty.
