its a 1979 and when i hit the throttle you can see the cable moving but it does not rev up.

Sounds like an issue with the throttle cable or the throttle body. Better do some more investigating.

Based off your post, my initial assumption is that you are not very mechanically inclined. There is nothing wrong with that, but if you aren't, then my suggestion is to sell the car as fast as you can. A 924 is not a cheap car to keep running or maintain. You've got to be able to trouble shoot the majority of stuff yourself, and that will take some in depth mechanical knowledge of cars. There is nothing more expensive than a cheap Porsche.

ok thank you but i am able to get a hold of a computer to diagnose problems with the car so i am going to see if the throttle position switch is bad because ive herd that if it is not set up then that will happen.

You can unplug the TPS (bypasses it) to see if it will rev up. With a bad TPS though, it will attempt to at least rev when you push the pedal down. Your initial post makes it sound like when you push the pedal, nothing happens, no changes in rpms/idle, etc.

Also, not sure what good a computer is going to do....there is no place to plug it in, lol.
