Porsche 928 Platform

Does anyone happen to know the platform for the Porsche 928 for the years 1991-1994? Thank you.

RE: Porsche 928 Platform

I don't understand the question. What do you mean by platform?

RE: Porsche 928 Platform

A platform is a shared set of characteristics that a group of vehicles share. For example, the Ford Taurus, the Mercury Sable, and the Ford Windstar shared the D186 platform in the 90's.

I am looking for the name of the platform that the Porsche 928 is in, and, also, the other vehicles that are within that platform.

RE: Porsche 928 Platform

The 928 and other Porsche sports carsdo not shareplatforms.

Like other Porschecars,there are differant models (i.e. 928, 928S, 928S4, 928CS, 928GT, 928GTS).

Porsche has share parts from one Porsche model to the other to cut costs and in the early days of the Porsche 356 and912, Porsche shared parts and assemblies from VW, but I'm not sure they could be called platforms?

The only recent exclusion to this would be the Porsche Cayanne as it shares the same "Platform" as the VW Touareg.

Hope that help!
