Starter/Ignition Switch Problem
 

I let my 1985 Porsche 928 sit for a couple of years and now the key will not engage the starter. I have a new battery and can jump the starter and it works fine but the key will not trigger the starter. The starter solenoid seems to be clicking when I turn the key to the start position but doesn't kick the starter.

Any ideas?

The starter problem turned out to be the starter relay. It was engaging but not good enough to pull the solenoid.
