1985 944 Question
 

Hello I have recently purchased a 1985 Porsche 944, I want to make it a little faster since its an N/A, my questions are should i turbo it and if i should who makes a kit for it and I did research it, my other question is could i put a 50 or 75 shot of wet nitrous on it and if so what do i have to do to get it done. The car has about 120k miles on it and my gauge cluster says it ?has 79k on it it doesn't work how could I fix this? Thanks in advance

IMHO You'll spend more money transforming your NA into a turbo than you would have spent just buying a nice factory turbo in the first place. And, you won't have the wide body and integrated bumpers unless you spend even more money on body kits. I say enjoy the NA for what it is. If you really are dissatisfied with it sell it and get a 951. Then, we can talk to you about going fast, faster,fastest.

Never saidyou couldn't, onlyresponding to the turbo aspect of your question. I'm not a big fan of NOS especially on a millthat has 120K+ milesbut hey that's just me. Putting nitrous into your engine is like putting steroids into your body. Everything looks great in the beginning and it appears you're getting the results you want and then suddenly one day things justfall apart.

Thats what i was thinking too I will just put a exhaust intake and chip on but i want a suspension for some autocrossing nothing too expensive what are you recommending and how do i lower it if it doesnt have springs in the back? Oh where can i get the fuses at some blew out? Just give me some websites for the stuff i asked about thanks.

The stock intake on a NA 944 actually may be better than a cone or intake kit. The stock intake scoops air from the side of the car outside of the engine bay. As I've read from the Doc the airbox in a 944 does a good job of pulling cold air. An aftermarket intake kit sits in the actual engine bay with HOT air. You may be better off leaving the stock intake in place and using a hi flow air filter.

sweet ill just do a k&n drop in thanks. I found a good deal on koni struts and shocks but how do i lower it in the back and what springs to use in the front?

As far as lowering the rear, you just loosen the two large bolts/nuts on the forward part of the springplate and use the eccentric to adjust lower/higher.

your kidding right thats all you have to do you dont have to buy anything to lower the rear?
