83 944 which is toast? clutch slave cylinder? both?
 

I was driving my 83 944 on the freeway in traffic, about 45-50mph..when I went to accelerate I got no response.. No torque at all.. Pulled to the side of the road and tried to shift into gear and go,but nothing.. Initially thought it was a bad pressure plate, car was towed home I opened the hood and see dark fluid (oil,brake,both?) has dripped on my headers.. Its not coming from exhaust manifold but cam gasket? I also found a pushrod or bolt that's broken.. Not sure if its where the slave cylinder meets the alternator or not..

I need a little help trying pin point the problem without having to drop the trans immediately, or is that only way to really know??
