Well, that would definitely be my problem. Is there any way that the sprocket would be misaligned with the cam shaft? There is only the one screw holding the rotor in place. Any suggestion on how to correct this or how that could happen? I only took the camshaft assy off. I never took it apart.

Did you take the cam gear off the cam? Did you put the woodruff key back in the cam when you put the gear on? The cam gear can not go on incorrectly with that woodruff key in place, and it also holds the cam gear in the proper orientation. If that was left out, that means very bad things for your head.

Take a picture of your rotor and the bolts holding it in place.

Ok, nevermind about the cam gear and the rotor. I was wrong, I put it back to TDC this morning and it looks exactly like yours. But for the record, I never took the cam gear off. Sorry about the bad info, butthis thing has been driving me crazy. I really appreciate the help though.
