I have a 1985.5 944, it died on me and I determind it was not getting fuel.
I have checked the fuse and there is no power to both sides of the fuse. I am not sure if it may be a relay and where would the relay be located.

It is the DME relay in the fuse panel.

 

I had that simliar problem, and had to change out the fuel pump, and the fuel injector rail.
