Ac question
 

I have a strange thing going on with my '86 944 AC. it used to work perfectly but recently began blowing really hot air intermittantly with cold and then just starts blowing hot only. The strange part is that even after i turn the ac off, it continues to blow hot air into the cabin. I thought i might just have a leaky system but the fact that it sometimes works well and other times not at all-coupled with the part about blowing hot even after turning it off makes me wonder if i might have some sort of glitch. Anyone ever seen this?

Sounds like you either have the broken clip on the blend door, or a bad heater control valve. The blend door clip is down by your driver's right foot on the side of the AC control unit. There is usually a plastic cover with 2 screws that needs to be removed before you can see the rod and clip.

Doc, I have been out of town so i only just got a chance to try your fix on my ac. It worked like a charm. the rod had come out of the little plastic clip and all i had to do was seat it right back into the clip. You're a genius. which model are you driving right now?

The only P-car I have right now is the 951 which is my full track duty car, I've decided not to sell it and keep it in that role. I was going to move into a 993, but decided I didn't want to go slower, lol. My around town car is the M3 (which i absolutely love) or the tow rig.
