Audio wiring...

I have 2 944's but one is definitely a fixer-uper. The one that I'm speaking of is an 84'. I bought a cheap little 10" subwoofer with a box, amp, and wiring for 30 bucks just for the heck of it from a buddy. The only problem that I am having is finding a place to sneak the big power wire through from the battery back to the subwoofer located in the hatch. Everyone tells me just to drill a hole, but I want that to have to be that last-case senario. Is there any good way or spot to get the wire from the battery to the back? Any ideas would be great!

I ran mine on passenger side where the wire hardness comes through the firewall and then hit under door sill and under carpet. I carefully used a sharp punch to make a small hole in the rubber boot and ran from there.

I completely agree with your thoughts on not drilling any holes. I have heard a few horror stories in relation to cutting holes in firewalls. Including the fact that your little treasure may be appraised foroverall conditionsome day. Just a humble opinion, but run subwoofer and amp systems as a temporaryenhancement to your 944. Youcan still tuck system wiring from battinto fender well then down, then underplastic kick plate (lower door frame), then tucked into theside of rear seat, up to the rear deck area. It won't be completely invisible, butif you are inclined (as I am)in keeping your Porsche as pristine as possible... remember, she'sheadingtowardher 25th birthday!
