YES! a chipped turbo from a non-chipped turbo is like night and day. this is one of the essential mods that needs to be done. as for which one, this depends on what other upgrades you intend to do. You can look at +15-25 or more hp gains and +20-35 ftlbs tq from this, depending on what other mods you have done or intend to do. shop around and dont buy the first you see! Im sure somebody, *cough* PORSCHEDOC *cough* can tell you where to get a great buy.

A chip is always a great first upgrade, and can give you large jump in hp. Arguably the best chips on the market come from John at Vitesse Racing (www.vitesseracing.com), he knows his stuff. Plan on doing a chip, boost controller, and 3 bar FPR at the same time.

How exactly do chips work? I can guess that it can fine tune the fuel and spark to a higher flashpoint, but you would need to run a higher hydrocarbon of fuel. Oh well I guess if you can afford the turbo you can afford to put 92 octane in your car.

CHIP THAT CAR! I have a 1986 944T that is chipped, it is the best thing since sliced bread. I have the same setup that the doc said to do and it made a world of diffrence.
