computer box?

looing down buy the hood release is a metal box with two plugs to it what is it ?both my plugs are unpluged but the car runs fine.i wonder if its why my tachs not working?or maybe the stock amp? and will a 1984 power steering pump work on my 1985.5? thanks for any help!

Cruise control computer.

Yes all PS pumps are the same with the exception of the S.
