electric fans wont shut off
i have an '84 944 and just got it back on the road. yesterday well last night i had to go to chico and come back home in redding, well when i got back home i notice that one of my fans is still on and not kicking down when the car is off. i didnt think anything of it, i let it go on for 10-15 mins and i would think it would kick off, well when i went and checked on it i was still on. so i moved my car in the back and discouncted the battery. i was wondering if anybody can help me out why it wont go off. im just really confused right now.

RE: electric fans wont shut off
Yep, same thing happened to me shortly after I bought my 944. So here's what the deal is, it is the radiator fan switch or thermo-fan switch. The part is like $15 and its pretty simple to fix. Open up the hood and look right down behind the radiator. Closer to the top there should be a brass piece sticking out of the radiator, that's what you're looking for. I have and '88 so its gonna be a little different with an '84 but I think that part number is going to be 823.959.481.F.92.M2 for an early 944. I got the part from a local part store so check at like an Advance or an Auto Zone, they should have it. If you have any more questions feel free to ask.
