Engine Mounts

Does anybody have any experience with aftermarket 944 engine mounts? Compared to OEM units, pricing is very attractive. I don't race, but I feel vibration when idling and smooths out at 1150 rpm.

I was told to go with OEM mounts. What is the price of the aftermarkets you've found and how long are you planning on keeping the car? If your planning on keeping the car as long as possible I'd suggest going with OEM because I was told they last much longer and are better all the way around. I've always lived by the saying "You get what you pay for."

My 944 only has 50,650 miles. I guess the mounts in it now just dry rotted. That's why I was asking about the aftermarket vs oem because if those mounts will only last for 50,000 miles, then I might as well go for the cheaper ones. I'm at a loss considering the price difference between the two. For the price of one oem, you can get a pair of aftermarket ones.

It may only have 50k miles, but you are talking rubber that is 20 years old. That is a pretty good life span if you ask me. There for awhile people were having trouble with the mounts made in China, but I dont know if that has changed recently.

You have a point. I browsed on eBay, and I saw some advertised made in Germany for $89.95 + S&H for the pair.
