A few questions for the vets.

Hey everyone. I just bought a 1985 944. There are a few things wrong with it but nothing I wouldn't expect from a 28 year old car. I do have a few questions about interior parts though. Is there a website that can be trusted to get interior parts from? Also, my sunroof has a problem, when the switch is connected it always wants to go up (or so the owner before me told me). Also, my odometer is broken, any idea what might cause this? Thanks in advance

RE: A few questions for the vets.

Hey Alex,
For interior parts definitely go to Pelican Parts. Many of their parts are a bit on the expensive side but the interior parts are priced very well and are always new, not to mention the shipping is reasonable and fast. I highly recommend Pelican Parts. About the sunroof, I don't fully understand what you mean when the switch is connected, do you have to keep it disconnected so the sunroof will stay down? Just check and see if the switch is dirty, has a bad connection, or may need to be replaced? If its not the switch it might be the relay or possibly something to do with the motor in the back. As far as the odometer I've never had to fool with mine, thankfully, however it might be the connection behind the dash? For parts I would also check eBay, many times you can find good deals and hard to find parts on there, eBay always has a large selection of Porsche 944 items. On eBay check out the seller picasporsches, he has a wide variety of items sometimes a little expensive but a great seller. Anyway I hope all that helps Alex.

RE: A few questions for the vets.

The odometer is pretty easy. Check Ckark's Garage for the instructions and I bought the gear from 944 online, although I am sure there are plenty of others places to get it. About $10 for a plastic gear the size of a dime.

Hi Alex,is it an early 85 or late 85 because there is a difference in the odometer gears.Since you are new go to our website,it has all kinds of diagrams to help you learn about your model.
