Hello...need help please.
 

Thanks for checking out my post. Alright, okay, I'm a newbie. I've never owned a Porsche, but want one. I'm in the market for a 944...I love the body style, it's just great.

Anyway...

I'm noticing that nothing is going for Kelley Blue Book, nor is anything going for what Edmunds.com values the car at...all of the 944's that I am seeing are well above those prices. My first question is in regards to that, are the 944's fetching a good price, is this normal?

I know little about the 944, but am learning quickly...i think. I've learned that there is a 944, 944 S, 944 S2, 944 Turbo and perhaps even a 944 Turbo S. I've learned that the timing belt has to be changed every 30K miles and that the dashlayout changed sometime in 1985. My next question is in regards to the model and the service. Obviously the Turbo is the most sought after model, but does buying an older car (20 years old) with a lot of miles, and a Turbo, mean that regardless of the cars condition that the turbo is going to need replaced or rebuilt...am I better off buying one of the naturally aspirated motors.

I'm sure I could go on and on, but I could really use some good tips, direction and advice.

Please help, I'm indeed going to make this purchase this year and want to make a good buy.

Well, I'm by no means an expert, but let me start by saying that if you want to make big power than buy the turbo. The turbo model comes with a lot of parts that would be essential if you were thinking of making a conversion. You should check out www.clarks-garage.com there is a great link on his site that would bevery helpfulfor a first time 944 buyer.
