I am thinking about purchasing a high-mileage (161,000) 944S for use as a weekend-and-fun car. All of the maintenance records look to be complete and done on time, but the mileage is giving me a little pause. I know that any time you buy a high mileage vehicle you are taking some risk, but how confident can I be that the engine still has quality life left in it? I'd hate to buy the car and have the engine detonate on me in 5,000 miles. Again, I know that's always a risk, but I want to make sure it's as calculated a risk as I can make it. Also, anything else I need to be concerned with at that mileage?
